Mind Hacks

I stole almost all the mind hacks from somebody else. So I stand on the shoulders of giants - of more intelligent men and women. When I know and remember where I first learned about them, I will mention it here. The only one I think I developed by myself is: “Design will recognizable.”

Thoughts on mind hacks

I felt uncomfortable thinking of hacking the mind for a long time. It's manipulation! I'm not too fond of manipulation and don't want to manipulate. I found peace after a conversation with one of my bosses - a master manipulator. We had contract negotiations to get a salary raise. The process dragged on and on. So, at one time, I confronted him with an ultimatum. He told me: "Simon, this was a learning experiment. I wanted to see how you react and if you negotiate without the other party losing face." I failed the experiment, and it took me some time to appreciate the effort. For myself, the intent makes all the difference. If I manipulate to help others, it's okay. We should probably not even call it manipulation. It becomes problematic if I manipulate for my benefit and the disadvantage of others. A fine line to walk!

So, instead of getting passively manipulated by reading the mind hacks, I encourage you to try them out. Maybe you can even add and share some of yourself! I always love to hear about them in the chat!
